So, You Had a Bad Day

Some days are just more challenging than others.

I wouldn't say today was a bad day. Overall, it was pretty fine. It was just rough.

Let's not go into why it wasn't the best {that's no fun}; instead, I'm going to discuss how to deal with a no good day.

step 1: give up on eating healthy for the night.
step 2: set up your materials {you will need a bowl, a spoon, and an ice cream scoop}
step 3: locate the ice cream and cereal (flavor doesn't matter; just get it)
step 4: get several heaping scoops of ice cream [disregard how much. you had a rough day and you deserve it.]
step 5: throw some cereal on top.
step 6: EAT IT. eat it all. no regrets.

your final product should look like this
That definitely made me feel a lot better.

Next time you're having a not so fabulous day, just remember this simple solution, and you'll be fine.

*I talked to my mom and poppy a little, too. That was also helpful.

{Sorry to be so short tonight. I just really want to curl up in my warm bed and sleep.}

My Day: Bulleted

  • ate a huge breakfast (courtesy of my brother and grandmother)
  • practiced shooting moving targets (missed often)
  • went to a tiny Chinese restaurant
  • made 200 cookies [there would have been more but I ate a significant amount of dough]
  • played tag with my brothers {I just want to be a kid again}
  • went to a rather ghetto fair [avoided rides, saw wayyyyy to many butts in tight pants, ate greasy food]
Now, I'm full of sugary, high calorie food. I've been walking around for several hours and I'm slipping into a food coma (again). Overall though, today was a pretty good day.

Props to you if you're actually interested in my boring day in the middle of no where.

Good night.

Poppy

Happy birthday, Poppy!

For those of you who don't know, Poppy is my step dad. I don't know why I call him Poppy (his name is Anthony); I've just always called him that. Poppy and my mom got married when I was about 5, so he's pretty much always been in my life.

He's got to be one of my favorite people ever. And heeeeeere's why

  • He gives great advice.
  • He's very smart.
  • He's hilarious.
  • He gives wonderful opinions on fashion.
  • He cheers me up.
  • He does all sorts of things for me that he doesn't really have to do (like all parents).
  • He takes me hunting.
  • He makes me feel special and beautiful.
  • He's pretty chill.
  • He wins stuff all the time {sweet}
  • He's really good at fixing things on my car.
  • He is a lovely cook.
  • He supports my decisions.
  • He helps me whenever I ask.
  • He's nice to me, but he always tells me things honestly. [he doesn't try to make things sound different than they are]
  • He loves my mom and my brothers.
  • He is ALWAYS there for me.
  • He loves me even when it's hard (which can be often).
My step dad is a amazing person, who does wayyyyy more for me than I will ever deserve. He's sort of like a really awesome friend who can be goofy with you and hang out, but also give you advice and help you at any moment.

I love him.

Everyone should come meet him. He's cool.

On the 7th Day...

She rested.

Just kidding. I can't rest. Instead, I decided to write a list of goals for my blog (or for having a blog).
  1. Never complain about being bored. Now I always have something to do!I can find something to write about and go with it.
  2. Write something every day. Writing something I was thinking or something I did is a really good way to end the day (or so I've discovered).
  3. Entertain people? Okay, this might not be the most entertaining blog, but maybe some people will enjoy reading about my life and the various other things I write about. Maybe it will inspire you to write a blog.
  4. Think about things more. Now I have to think about things I want to write about and how I want to say them, but I also want to think about new things and develop an opinion on them.
  5. Learn about something new! Learning is always fun. Sometimes, I just want to look something up to know more about it. Now I can write down the things I find! (this one kind of goes with #4)
  6. Be spontaneous! I have a tendency to plan everything (or at least I try to). Hopefully, this will help me to let go of that obsessive planning and try new things.
  7. Have a better outlook on life in general. I think this will help me to organize my thoughts more and possibly (hopefully) make me happier in general... it has so far!
So, a few of those were pretty nerdy... but so is having a blog.

People keep asking what my blog is about and why I decided to start one. The answer is just because I wanted to. I wanted to do something new and fun. I wanted to think and write more. I want to be happy.

I love it. I'm pretty happy with everything right now. Merry October!
