Oh my gosh. I'm an awful person. I didn't post anything yesterday. I sincerely apologize. Senior project is absorbing my life.
Anyways, I'm so happy it's finally November! Everyone on Facebook seems to be posting another thing they're thankful for for each day in November. I kind of like that idea, so I've decided to catch up on it today and continue through the end of the month.
I'll still post about other things, but I'll throw in whatever I'm thankful for for that day at the end of each post.
Let's do it!
Day 1: I am thankful for fall colors. Woodland exploring in the fall is the best. The weather feels perfect and the colors are even better. Everything feels so nostalgic.
Day 2:I am thankful for family. That doesn't exactly mean family that I'm related to by blood, but people who you've been around your whole life. I'm thankful I have people who've always been there to help and care about things that are happening in my life.
Day 3: I am thankful for birthdays. I just love birthdays. It doesn't even have to be my birthday. I get super excited for everyone's birthday. Birthdays are just really great celebrations.
Day 4: I am thankful for cows. We spent an entire class period learning about all the lovely things we get from cows. There are diary cows and beef cow. All kinds of cows. I love 'em. {fun fact: I used to have about 70 cows out on my grandparent's farm in Cusseta.}
Day 5: I am thankful for my dad. He's the coolest. He does all sorts of awesome things like mountain bike riding and kayaking. He has some nifty tattoos. He's pretty good at folk art, which I love. He can have an entire conversation with me in movie quotes. He is outdoors-y and fun. He loves me even when I'm not the greatest daughter. AND he saved me from a melt-down today by fixing my PowerPoint for phase 2 of my senior project.
Each of those things was related to something I did that day.
I'm thankful for lots of things, so this should be easy enough!
NOVEMBER RULEZ.
I don't know what I'm doing. But, I think it'll be okay. This a collection of things in my life.

Breaking the Rules
You can't wear white pants after Labor Day.
False.You can wear whatever you want, whenever you want. (I tried it out today and nothing happened- it was just a normal day)
Where did this rule even come from? Well, once upon a time, in the early 1900s, there was a rather large difference between social classes- you were either rich or you were poor. All the fancy, rich people would pack up their light, white summer clothes as soon as they felt a warm breeze and leave the drab city for the exotic coastal atmosphere. White was the uniform for the high end bosses during the summer months. And that makes sense! White clothes reflect the hot summer sun, and they were often made out of more luxurious materials. I imagine the women stayed out late shopping in their flirty, white sundresses while their husbands sat around playing cards in their pristine, white pants and a pastel colored shirt. When Labor Day finally rolled around, marking the end of summer, they had to pack everything back up and head back to the city- back to their dull, everyday lives. This meant they packed their white clothes away to save for the next summer. The poorer people, who had to stay in the city all summer and work for a living, continued to wear the same dark, tattered clothing they always wore.
So there you have it! The "no white after Labor Day rule" is merely a symbol the upper class used to separate their fancy, summer lives from the lower classes boring, everyday lives.

Typical White Girl Moment
Everything is perfect.
Tomorrow is the first day of October, which means it is officially acceptable to start celebrating the greatest time of the year. IT'S FALL!
Pretty
much everything gets better in the fall, and I am just in an incredibly
wonderful mood thinking about how fabulous everything is right now.
Like any good white girl, I am going to take this time to list why fall is actually the greatest.
- The weather. It's the ideal temperature for outside activities. Not to mention the disgusting southern humidity goes away.
- It's gorgeous! The leaves turn pretty colors and they get all crunchy so you can walk around smashing them.
- Boots. I shamelessly wear my my cowgirl boots every single day.
- Fooooooootball- all weekend long {WDE}
- Halloween. You get to play dress up and eat candy. It doesn't get any better than that.

| Last Halloween |
- It actually feels good to sit out by a bonfire and stuff s'mores in your face.
- No more bikinis... You don't have shave every day and you can eat more to establish a layer of fat to keep you warm in the winter (logic.)
- Thanksgiving: a break from school, time with family, andddd...
- THE FOOD: pumpkin flavored things, hot chocolate, apple pie, tomato soup, turkey everyyyyything, delicious veggies, pecan pie, BBQ, candy corn and those little candy pumpkin things that no one ever knows the name of
- Pumpkin carving and other fun fall crafts
- It even smells good. There are all sorts of fall aromas in the air and some really lovely candles.
- It's socially acceptable to curl up in a blanket and watch movies all day.
- Fall just leads into the second greatest time of year {Christmas}
Spend time with your family!
Go outside!
Read a book!
Fall is the best. I am ecstatic.
